Why Torres will definitely see out his Liverpool contract

The situation at Anfield has fuelled speculation over Fernando Torres’ future at Liverpool, with too many people trying to second guess what the Spanish striker is thinking right now and suggesting that he is reconsidering his future under Benitez.

Let’s put an end to the guesswork: in a recently published interview (that was actually conducted in August) Torres said “my place is in Anfield”.

I can tell you that he has not changed his mind. His Liverpool contract runs until 2014 and he wants to fulfil it. He believes in Rafa’s project, despite recent setbacks, and he has total faith in the manager, his staff and colleagues.

Fernando is, quite naturally, disappointed after Wednesday’s elimination from the Champions League, but he is as committed to delivering future success to Liverpool as he has always been.
