Chelsea have made a new bid for Racing Genk midfielder Kevin de Bruyne as Andre Villas-Boas continues the process of revitalising his squad with emerging young talent.

Romelu Lukaku, a teenage international team-mate of De Bruyne, has already been recruited this summer as well as Oriel Romeu form Barcelona and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois from Genk.

A fresh offer of around £5 million was made yesterday for De Bruyne, with the 20 year-old potentially being allowed to spend another season on loan in Belgium at Genk.

Chelsea have already loaned Courtois, 19, out for the season to Atletico Madrid.

Genk and Chelsea remain in negotiations but De Bruyne is hoping that a deal will be completed before the transfer window closes at 11pm this evening. He would be the third young Belgium player to join Chelsea this summer.

De Bruyne scored five goals and provided 16 assists in 32 league matches during the 2010–11 season as Genk won the Belgian championship.
