Darren-Fletcher-Man-UnitedDarren Fletcher looks set to remain with Manchester United, a club source has told Sportsmail.

The 31-year-old had been set to move to West Ham, only for the move to collapse after the player had travelled to London on Friday.

West Ham were reportedly willing to give the midfielder a three-and-a-half-year deal worth £75,000 per week to move to Upton Park.

However, the move broke down on Saturday just hours before Sam Allardyce’s side lost to Liverpool at Anfield.

United are willing to let the Scotland international, whose contract expires at the end of the season, leave on a free and West Bromwich Albion have also registered an interest.

Tony Pulis is keen to bolster his midfield as rumours linking Graham Dorrans with a move away from the Hawthorns Stadium continue.

However, with the clock ticking to 11pm an Old Trafford official admitted any move was now ‘unlikely’.

Fletcher has found game time limited under Louis van Gaal having made just 12 Premier League appearances this season.

Van Gaal named the versatile midfielder vice captain shortly arriving at the club but he has struggled to maintain a regular spot.
