Royston Drenthe has played his last game for Everton after one indiscretion too many.

The enigmatic Dutchman was left out of the squad for Wembley on Saturday after turning up late for training just days before the semi final.

Angry boss David Moyes immediately sent the Holland international home, and made clear any chance of winning a permanent move to the club has gone.

Moyes has finally lost patience with Drenthe after a series of disciplinary misdemeanors since arriving at Goodison on a year long loan from Real Madrid, and he will wash his hands of the troubled star.

Everton have an option to sign the winger permanently, but that will not be taken up.

Drenthe has run up a series of fines for breaking club rules since arriving in England, and he was recently given leave to go home for a fortnight, for personal reasons.
