Fulham have made a move for West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie amid doubts over the futures of Bobby Zamora and Andy Johnson.

The Cottagers have reportedly opened talks for the 30-year-old after cooling their interest in Marseille’s Andre-Pierre Gignac.

Fulham are willing to pay £3 million plus performance-related add-ons for the 30-year-old but West Brom value the player at the £5m mark.

Odemwingie has endured a rocky ride at The Hawthorns despite scoring 15 goals in his first season in the Premier League.

His future was thrown in doubt last November after Hodgson claimed Albion had got ‘nothing’ out of the player this season, adding he was ‘difficult to work out’.

Hodgson has been linked with Bristol City’s Nicky Maynard and could move for the 25-year-old if he sells Odemwingie.

Fulham boss Martin Jol is also looking to refresh his attacking options with Zamora, 31, linked with Sunderland and QPR and Johnson wanted by Blackburn.
