Jurgen Klinsmann has ruled out a return to Tottenham if Harry Redknapp is appointed as the new England manager.

Reports over the weekend suggested that the former Spurs favourite wants to succeed Redknapp, even though he was only appointed as US national team boss just over six months ago.

But Klinsmann, 47, moved swiftly to play down the speculation today, saying: ‘I’m very happy in my role as US manager and busy preparing for the start of World Cup qualifying this summer.’

Sources close to Klinsmann also pointed out that the German legend is settled in California, where his son is at high school, and has no wish to uproot his family.
