Manchester City will make a final bid of £22million for Samir Nasri.

The Arsenal midfielder has been high on manager Roberto Mancini’s wish-list all summer and with the signing of Sergio Aguero complete, Nasri looks set to be City’s next big-name acquisition.

The French midfielder has turned down a new deal at the Emirates and the club are prepared to let him leave for nothing next year.

According to The Sun, City are confident that Arsenal are losing the battle to keep Nasri at the club and a deal could even be completed in time for the Community Shield on Sunday.

The news will come as another blow to Arsenal fans who are resigned to seeing captain Cesc Fabregas sold to Barcelona for £35m.

Manchester United have also been linked with a move but they would prefer to clinch the £30m signing of Inter Milan’s Wesley Sneijder.

Nasri will be offered a deal of £125,000 a week, just £10,000 a week more than he could pick up at United or Arsenal.
