QPR boss Neil Warnock has claimed that Blackburn’s El-Hadji Diouf abused Jamie Mackie while he lay on the pitch with a broken leg during their FA Cup tie.

Mackie suffered a double fracture in a tackle with Gael Givet which left both players carried off on stretchers.

“The lads were furious with Diouf; he was calling Mackie all sorts,” said Warnock after QPR’s 1-0 defeat.

“I can’t abide people like that, I don’t know why he wants to take on the world. He’s a nasty little person.”

After David Hoilett’s clinical late goal put Warnock’s weakened Championship pace-setters out of the FA Cup, he added: “He [Diouf] is the lowest of the low.

“There was no need to put the finger up and call him a disgrace and even the Blackburn people were embarrassed.

“I can’t see him being at Blackburn much longer because I can’t see Steve Kean putting up with someone like that in the dressing room when he is trying to form a new image for Blackburn.

“I think he will be the first to go and good riddance – I hope he goes abroad because I won’t miss watching him.”

Diouf’s career in England has not been without controversy, with the Senegalese twice banned and fined for spitting at opposition fans or players.

Warnock added that he had not intended to play the 25-year-old Mackie, admitting he had left playmaker Adel Taarabt out of the squad entirely because he felt he “might break a leg”.

“He’s broken both bones, his tibia and his fibula, and he’s gone to hospital but will travel home with us,” he said.

“It was not a malicious tackle but it is his standing foot and you can see in the slow motion his leg bends.

“It is disappointing for everyone and the result pales into insignificance. I’m pulling my hair out because I didn’t want to play him but he pleaded with me to play – that’s how he is, he wants to play in everything.

“We will miss him. It is a massive blow because I can’t see him playing again this season.”
