Tottenham hope to bring in Everton’s Louis Saha on loan providing they can finally ship Roman Pavlyuchenko out of club.

Spurs are desperate to offload the Russian, who was involved in a furious training ground bust-up with Harry Redknapp’s No 2 Kevin Bond, but need to bring in a direct replacement should he leave.

Saha is enjoying one of his better seasons in terms of fitness at Goodison Park having started 16 matches and appeared in four more.

However, the Frenchman has found the net just once in the Premier League and the impending arrival of Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic for £6million will cast more doubt over Saha’s role at the club.

Pavlyuchenko, meanwhile, is yet to start a match in the top flight and has recently been the subject of a £6.5m bid from Lokomotiv Moscow. Tottenham have also offered him to Newcastle and QPR.

The Russian has scored 42 times in 114 appearances since joining from Sporting Moscow for £13.8million in 2008.
