Harry Redknapp has confirmed he is trying to sign Scott Parker.

The Spurs boss said of the West Ham and England midfielder: “Yes, there is interest but I don’t know if it will happen. It’s a case of if it’s do-able.”

The Hammers want £8million for 30-year-old Parker and have already rejected an offer of £4m from QPR.

But Tottenham are believed to have offered a cash-plus-player deal.

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce said on Friday night: “There’s some dialogue going on at the moment but that is all I’m aware of – no deal has been struck so far.

“It all depends on whether somebody matches the valuation of the player.

“Scott has really enjoyed his time at West Ham but he wants to leave to stay in touch with the England team and you can understand that.

“We just have to move on and wish him the best for the future.”
