Swedish teenage sensation Valmir Berisha has confirmed a number of Premier League clubs are interested in signing him, according to reports.

The 17-year-old has been nicknamed the ‘new Zlatan Ibrahimovic’, giving him the enviable task of trying to follow in the maverick striker’s footsteps.

Berisha currently plays for Halmstads in his native Sweden although he looks certain to leave, with a switch in the January transfer window very much possible.

And he is quoted as saying in Aftonbladet, that there are as many as three top flight clubs in this country, as well as others across Europe, vying for his signature.

The young striker said: “The clubs that have shown the biggest interest are Ajax, Milan, Liverpool, Sunderland, Tottenham and Celtic.

“I have got offers from everywhere, from England, Italy, Spain, Germany, Holland and Russia. There are some options.

“They have all offered me contracts. But it is a matter of choosing the right one, that is the most important.”

Berisha stole the show at the recent Under-17 World Cup, where he finished top scorer with seven goals, which led to reports Gus Poyet’s side had made a move.

His eye-catching displays will have no doubt increased his list of potential suitors but he is determined to join a club where he will be featuring in the first-team.

The starlet added: “I want to join a club who need a striker, then I can exploit that to get playing time. I don’t think I will join a very big club.”
