Cruzeiro star Everton Ribeiro has revealed that he is keen to secure ‘dream’ move to Manchester United, with Liverpool also interested in the player’s services.

Reports in Brazil suggest that United have sent their scouts to watch the 24-year-old, with David Moyes looking to add to his attacking ranks in the approaching winter window.Cruzeiro only signed Ribeiro at the start of the year, but he has impressed in helping the club to win the Brazilian title this season, contributing five goals and eight assists along the way.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is also keen to bolster his forward options and is set to rival United with a bid for the playmaker, with Iago Aspas set to leave Anfield in January after failing to find his feet in the Premier League.

It is understood that Cruzeiro are willing to sell the Brazilian for €8million (£6.7m) in January.

Ribeiro admits the chance to play for a big club would be too hard to turn down, should the champions make a bid for him.

He told Sportv: “I will continue doing my job here at Cruzeiro but plan on getting to a big club, it’s a dream I’ve had since I was young, I’ve always liked Manchester United.”The former Brazil Under-20 international has caught the attention of top European clubs after continuing to impress in the Brazilian top flight, scoring 43 times during spells at Corinthians, Sao Caetano, Coritiba and Cruzeiro.

United will have to battle to convince Ribeiro to leave his current employers though, as he admits he wants to focus on Cruzeiro for the time being.

“I haven’t talked with my agent yet,” Ribeiro added. “I asked him to talk only with Cruzeiro and let me focus here as I still have one more game to play and I want to end this league well.”
