Tim-Sherwood-Brendan-RodgersBrendan Rodgers could reportedly make a quicker than expected return to management at Aston Villa.

The Villains have made a disastrous start to the season and currently sit in 18th spot in the Premier League.

Tim Sherwood’s men have lost six of their seven league games and are four points adrift of safety.

And according to the Daily Mail, Sherwood is facing a battle to hold onto his job.

The report suggests Villa’s chief executive Tom Fox is very worried about the club’s alarming loss of form.

It is thought Sherwood will be given a chance to prove he is still the right man for the job in their next two league games – Chelsea and Swansea.

However, should Villa lose faith in Sherwood, it is believed former Liverpool boss Rodgers is on the shortlist.

Rodgers was axed by the Reds after his side’s tepid start to the season and has since been replaced by Jurgen Klopp.

Former Manchester United boss David Moyes is also thought to be considered as a potential candidate.
