The Portuguese boss returned to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2013 and still has two years remaining on his current contract.
But with the Blues flying high in the Premier League it seems Roman Abramovich is ready to tie Mourinho to the club long-term.
Indeed, both parties will look to sit down over the summer and thrash out a new deal with the focus on continuing to fight for silverware on three fronts.
Reports suggest that Mourinho currently earns £8.5million a year, and could see a pay-rise as a reward for his impressive work so far.
Earlier this month the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan boss claimed he wanted to remain at Chelsea for the next ten years.
Mourinho was tasked with transforming a squad that lost its way under the likes of Andre Villas-Boas, Roberto Di Matteo and Carlo Ancelotti.
And while he hasn’t completely done away with the old heads – with John Terry now expected to sign a new one-year deal – the additions of Nemanja Matic, Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa have the west London club back in the ascendancy.
