David Moyes has given the clearest indication yet that he will remain in charge of Everton after admitting he is ‘rolling along’ with his plans for the new season.

Moyes had initially been installed as the favourite to succeed Harry Redknapp as Tottenham manager but he has yet to receive an approach from White Hart Lane.

The Scot only has 12 months left on his contract and it is well known Everton need to raise funds before they can enter the transfer marker but he is not planning on walking away.

Moyes said: ‘There’s no contact from Spurs, I’m Everton manager and I am planning for next season as that.

‘I’m out at the Euros talking to my players, looking at others and me and Bill (Kenwright, Everton chairman) will be trying to keep things rolling along.’

Everton left a difficult start behind to finish seventh in the Barclays Premier League and reach the FA Cup semi-final and Moyes feels they will challenge again, adding: ‘We’re not far away because of the quality of players we have got. There’s a real good base and solidity behind our structure.

‘At Everton I think we could make a difference without too much money,  not necessarily £50million  or £60million. What the fans would like to see is that there is s an opportunity, a bit of hope, that it will get better. But if someone did give me a wad of cash I’d be delighted!’

Everton’s fortunes were transformed last season when Moyes drafted in Nikica Jelavic from Glasgow Rangers and his manager believes the Croatian striker’s impact on his squad has been unprecedented.

‘We have needed a centre forward at Everton (for a long time) and I think he’s made every other player 10 per cent better,’ said Moyes in an interview with TalkSport. ‘They know they can play the ball into the box and someone is there.

‘We bought him for £5million but what would you sell him for now? Not that we are going to, by the way.’
