Right-back Sascha Riether will return from a three-match suspension as Rene Meulensteen begins life as Fulham manager.

Forward Moussa Dembele will be assessed after picking up a minor hamstring problem in the 3-0 defeat at West Ham, which proved to be the final match of Martin Jol’s tenure.

Defender Brede Hangeland could be back after a sciatic nerve problem, while striker Dimitar Berbatov is also expected to be fit following illness.

Striker Hugo Rodallega and defender Matthew Briggs continue their rehabilitation.

Tottenham, meanwhile, remain doubtful over the fitness of striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

Midfielder Christian Eriksen, defender Danny Rose and striker Harry Kane are all out.

Manager Andre Villas-Boas has to decide whether to keep faith with floundering forward Roberto Soldado, or recall Jermain Defoe.

New manager, same concerns. Rene Meulensteen may have taken the Fulham reins from Martin Jol but the players will be much the same and, after six straight defeats, the home side have to begin their fightback now.

Spurs held Manchester United on Sunday and should be confident when they travel across London.

But they still need to score consistently to maintain hopes of a top-four finish.
