Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers may well stick with the same side which demolished Tottenham last weekend when Cardiff visit Anfield on Saturday. With no new injury concerns the Reds could name an unchanged line-up, especially as options in midfield are limited with captain Steven Gerrard still out with a hamstring injury. Striker Daniel Sturridge (ankle) and left-back Jose Enrique (knee) are still sidelined until the new year.

Cardiff have no new injury concerns ahead of their Barclays Premier League trip to Liverpool. Craig Bellamy could yet return from a hamstring injury while Craig Noone is set to feature against his boyhood club after an impressive display against West Brom last weekend. Andreas Cornelius is pushing for a first start in the Premier League but is likely to again have to settle for a place on the bench behind Fraizer Campbell.

After declaring Cardiff owner Vincent Tan “clueless” about football, Brendan Rodgers will probably swerve a post-match drink in the directors lounge at Anfield. He will enjoy a Christmas tipple, however, if his side secure top spot for at least 48 hours with victory over the Welsh side. Liverpool are buoyant after the 5-0 win at Spurs, and they have been hammering opponents at home all season. With Tan expected to be in attendance and no one entirely sure who will be in the Cardiff dugout, this fixture could become the must-see pantomime of the festive season.
