Goalkeeper Tim Krul and midfielder Yohan Cabaye could both return to the Newcastle squad for Sunday’s Premier League clash with Manchester City.

Krul (shoulder) and Cabaye (Achilles) both missed the FA Cup third round defeat by Cardiff last weekend, but are back in training and may figure.

However, full-back Davide Santon iis out with a thigh problem and is set to join fellow defenders Fabricio Coloccini and the suspended Mathieu Debuchy on the sidelines.
Meanwhile, Manchester City midfielder Yaya Touré is fit for Sunday’s Premier League trip to Newcastle after overcoming a minor ankle knock suffered in midweek.

Top scorer Sergio Agüero remains on the sidelines but could be close to a return while fellow forward Stevan Jovetic and midfielder Jack Rodwell are also still out.

Winger Jésus Navas returns after resting a knee problem while defender Dedryck Boyata is available again after suspension.

Defenders Micah Richards and Martin Demichelis are available after injury.

Manchester City can finally put to bed the theory they are vulnerable away from home with a victory at St James’ Park as Manuel Pellegrini’s side look increasingly powerful in their title charge.

Newcastle may have lost three games on the spin, but they have beaten other top sides this season and were only narrowly defeated by Arsenal over Christmas.

This is a chance for City to prove they are over their early season problems on the road.
