Kenny Dalglish is confident he can end Liverpool’s six-year trophy drought this season without adding to his squad.

Kenny Dalglish has ruled out a repeat of last year when he spent £58m in a frantic final few hours of the January window to land Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll.

Liverpool are six points adrift of fourth spot and without a league win in 2012 ahead of tonight’s game at Wolves.

But they have reached the Carling Cup final and are through to the last 16 of the FA Cup.

Dalglish said: “Last year was manic but there’ll be nothing this time. We’ve said what’s going to happen and that’s nothing. It’s quiet.

“The good thing about the squad is that we are pleased with the strength of it. It’s as important an endorsement now as it was three or four months ago.

“They have done a lot of good work here, but it’s also a transitional period with seven new guys coming in.”NO DEAL: Kenny Dalglish
