Stevan-Jovetic-Man-CityLiverpool are considering a £16m raid for Manchester City’s Stevan Jovetic.

The Kop’s preferred striking option is Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke, but Tim Sherwood is unwilling to budge on his £32.5m asking price.

So Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will weigh up whether to make a move for the City flop.

Jovetic moved to The Etihad for £22m in 2013 but has failed to make any real impact.

He’s now fallen behind Wilfried Bony in the pecking order at City and The Metro say they could be tempted to cash in.

Jovetic has been linked with a return to Serie A with Inter Milan leading the chase.

Reports claim Benteke is going to ask Villa to let him join Liverpool.

With interest in Jovetic from abroad, Liverpool will need to know quickly if Villa will let the Belgian go for less than his £32.5m release clause or they could avoid missing out on the City striker.
