Liverpool winger Oussama Assaidi will complete his season-long loan move to Stoke City later on Tuesday.

Assaidi, who joined Brendan Rodgers’ side for £3million from Heerenveen last summer but has failed to force his way into first-team contention, is undergoing a medical this lunchtime before he is expected to finalise terms.

Despite offers from Holland and Belgium, he will now join Mark Hughes’s side.

The Morroccan winger made 15 appearances for Liverpool last season, but was not able to cement a first-team spot.

Assaidi will join Erik Peters and Marc Muniesa as Hughes’ new recruits at the Britannia Stadium after taking over from Tony Pulis.

Stoke’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace last weekend followed their opening day defeat against Assaidi’s parent club.
