rickie-lambert-liverpoolLiverpool striker Rickie Lambert could be set for a loan move away from Anfield before tomorrow’s 11pm transfer deadline, with QPR, Crystal Palace, Hull and West Brom all battling to sign the England international.

According to the Mirror, Brendan Rodgers is prepared to let the former Southampton player leave Merseyside for regular first-team football.

Lambert has failed to make an impact for Liverpool after joining for £4million last summer, becoming a regular on the substitute’s bench behind the likes of Raheem Sterling, Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini.

The paper reports that the 32-year-old could reluctantly leave the club as Daniel Sturridge makes his long-awaited comeback from injury, and it is believed that Palace and Hull are leading the race for his signature.

However, Harry Redknapp and Tony Pulis are also in the market for a new striker, and will attempt to land Lambert if they are given the green light by Rodgers.

The Mirror concludes by saying that Liverpool are still in the market for a new hitman despite welcoming Sturridge back at the weekend.

The club are still trying to find potential buyers for Borini, but one player who will not be on his way to the club is Seydou Doumbia, who completed a move from CSKA Moscow to Roma yesterday afternoon.
