West Ham remain at the foot of the Premier League and so this game is every bit as important as the ‘Save Our Season’ match against Wigan.

Against title-chasers, they may not be so confident, but City arrive without former West Ham favourite and leading scorer Carlos Tévez, who is banned after collective a fifth yellow card against Bolton.

Aleksandar Kolarov is also suspended following his red card in the same game.

Joleon Lescott should deputise at left back while Emmanuel Adebayor undergoes a test on a groin strain and, if he fails, Jo should come into the attack, possibly alongside Mario Balotelli.

City, who last won at Upton Park in August 2007, arrive on the back of a six-game unbeaten run in the Premier League and remain in fourth place, just three points off leaders Arsenal.

West Ham are unbeaten in their last three Premier League games at home but are still without Manuel da Costa, Mark Noble, Anthony Edgar, Peter Kurucz, Jack Collison and Thomas Hitzlsperger.

Valon Behrami undergoes a test on a hip problem that has kept him out of five of the last six games.

Last season the teams drew 1-1 with two early goals. Luis Boa Morte gave West Ham the lead only for Shaun Wright-Phillips to level in the 21st minute.

Last season: City 3 West Ham 1, West Ham 1 City 1.

Stat of the game: City have eight clean sheets; only Chelsea have as many.

West Ham (Possible, 4-4-2): Green; Ben-Haim, Tomkins, Upson, Gabbidon; Dyer, Spector, Parker, Boa Morte; Obinna, Cole.
Man City (Possible, 4-4-2): Hart; Zabaleta, K Toure, Kompany, Lescott; Silva, De Jong, Toure Yaya, Barry; Jo, Balotelli.
Referee: Phil Dowd. Matches: 14. R4 Y51.
