Manchester United manager David Moyes is ready to flog struggling quartet Ashley Young, Nani, Anderson and Rafael as he prepares to overhaul his Old Trafford squad.

The future of wingers Young and Nani are under threat following the emergence of youngsters Adnan Januzaj and Wilfried Zaha this season.

Young, 28, and Nani, 26, are yet to register on the scoresheet for the Red Devils since Moyes took over and both have failed to impress the Scot.

Moyes handed Nani a new five-year deal in September but it is thought that was a move more intended to protect the Portguese international’s value rather than ensure his long-term future in Manchester.

Midfielder Anderson, 25, is yet to convince Moyes he deserves a first-team place in his five appearances this term.

And 23-year-old right-back Rafael – who broke into the side under Sir Alex Ferguson – is yet to fully win the new manager’s trust.

Moyes is already looking at targets for the January transfer window, with Everton’s Leighton Baines, Porto’s Eliaquim Mangala and Athletic Bilbao’s Ander Herrera on his shortlist.

Young has admitted he is hopping to force his way back into the United set-up but the England international, Nani, Anderson and Rafael face an uphill battle to convince Moyes to reverse his views on them.
