Roberto Mancini has revealed Manchester City are still looking to sign two more players – a midfielder and a winger – in this transfer window.

The Premier league big-spenders splashed out a club record £38 million to land Argentinean striker Sergio Aguero this week.

But Mancini, speaking ahead of this weekend’s Dublin Super Cup, said the club still needed to bolster their squad with a midfielder and winger.

The City boss, who has been linked with Arsenal’s contract rebel Samir Nasri, told a press conference: “Sergio is another striker, he is a young striker, I think that we need a player like him.

“But if we want to compete with all the other top teams – Champions League or Premier League – we need other players, but the club are working in this way.”

Asked in what areas the club were also looking to strengthen, he replied: “The middle and like a winger.

“One midfielder, one winger.”

He also revealed Aguero will not feature in Dublin this weekend and will make his debut in the Community Shield against arch-rivals Manchester United next Sunday.

He added Aguero reminded him of legendary Brazilian striker Romario.

“And I hope that he can score all the goals that Romario scored!”
