Why always him? Manchester City’s Mario Balotelli is causing more fireworks after a new training ground bust-up with boss Roberto Mancini.

The Italian pair clashed at the Blues’ Carrington base on Wednesday, with Mancini apparently screaming at the striker before banishing him to train alone.

Balotelli then seemed to stand his ground before being advised to scarper by City coach Attilio Lombardo. And he later cut a lonely figure, resting on a free kick dummy as he tried to take it all in.

Balotelli then courted controversy again as he strolled with a pal towards posh Alderley Edge restaurant Panacea – ironically a favourite hangout for Mancini.

While Mario wore a T-shirt jokingly bragging about being an Italian, his mate was sporting a shirt bearing a picture of a handgun – amazingly tasteless given Manchester police’s long-standing battle against gun crime.

It is far from Balo’s first clash on the training ground.

He tussled with former City defender Jerome Boateng in December 2010, and later was involved in separate finger-pointing rows with Carlos Tevez and Vincent Kompany over what he saw as mistimed tackles.

Last December, team-mates had to pull he and close friend Micah Richards apart after they went toe-to-toe, also over a challenge.

The club have consistently said that similar incidents happen every day at training grounds across the Premier League – but City’s are picked up on because of Balotelli’s celebrity status and because a public footpath next to their pitches gives photographers the chance to spy on the Blues.

They plan to move to a futuristic new training complex next to the Etihad Stadium but it is unlikely to be completed for another five years.

The cause of Balotelli’s new row with his boss is unknown.

But perhaps Mancini was annoyed that with the title slipping away from City, Mario was in MIlan yesterday, making a surprise appearance at new Inter manager’s Andrea Stramaccioni introductory press conference.
