Roy Keane has delayed taking the hot seat at Turkish club Kasimpasa amid interest in the Blackburn job.

The 41-year-old arrived in Istanbul on Monday for talks over a £1.4million-a-year contract.

But Keane has yet to put pen to paper as he is interested in succeeding Steve Kean at Ewood Park, reports the Daily Mirror.

Keane, who has had spells in charge at Sunderland and Ipswich but is now a TV pundit, fits the profile of the big-name manager that Blackburn owners Venky’s are looking for to win back the fans and secure a return to the Premier League.

But Keane faces competition from former Ewood Park favourites Alan Shearer and Tim Sherwood.

Keane’s former Old Trafford team-mate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who won the Norwegian title with Molde in his first full season, is also eyeing the Blackburn job.

Blackburn’s director of football Shebby Singh said: ‘There’s a lot of interest. And we will not be rushed into a decision.’
