sadio-mane-southamptonManchester United are refusing to give up on signing Sadio Mane despite Southampton manager Ronald Koeman insisting no more players will leave St Mary’s this summer.

Mane has been linked with a move to Old Trafford after the Red Devils missed out on signing Pedro from Barcelona.

The Daily Telegraph report United are ready to offer a fee in excess of £20million to sign Mane.

And while Southampton are ready to resist all bids for Mane, The Sun claim United will push for a deal.

Manager Koeman rebuffed claims of a bid after Southampton’s 1-1 draw against FC Midtjylland in their Europa League qualifier on Thursday.

“There is no bid for any player. Not for Wanyama, not for Sadio, there’s no bid by the club,” he said.

“But we have to deal with rumours off the press and maybe somebody of Manchester. I don’t know because there is no contact and no bid for nobody.

“And we don’t sell any more players. That is very clear in my opinion.

“But that’s the worst situation for the smaller clubs because no one talks about one of the best players of City, United or Chelsea because they are in the best place to be.

“But teams like Southampton and other teams, they have to deal and that is not easy because that makes rumours and everyone is talking about it.

“We have to play and that’s difficult. If they don’t change the window then we will always have this kind of rumours.”
