Ajax have completed the transfer of Russian attacker Dmitry Bulykin from Anderlecht on a free. The powerful striker has signed a contract until the end of the season with the Amsterdam giants.

The Eredivisie champions were in the market for a new striker to provide cover for first choice Kolbeinn Sigthorsson and head coach Frank de Boer is thought to see the 31-year-old as the perfect addition to his squad.

Bulykin was surplus to requirements at Anderlecht and the Europa League hopefuls eventually allowed the striker to move on a free transfer.

The former Bayer Leverkusen attacker impressed at ADO Den Haag last season as he scored 21 goals in 20 league appearances and Bulykin now returns to the league where he flourished in 2010-11.
