Arsenal could make a stunning move for Bayern Munich midfielder Javi Martinez.
The Spain star, 25, wants to quit Bayern at the end of the season.And according to reports in Germany, Arsenal are lining up a bank-busting move to offer Martinez a way out.
Martinez has fallen out of favour under Pep Guardiola and has allegedly asked his agent to tell the board he wants out.
Arsenal will have to stump up around £28m for Martinez, who cost Bayern £32.8m in 2012.He is under contract until at the Allianz Arena until 2017.
Sources in Germany also claim Manchester City were interested in making a move.
However, they are facing a £50m UEFA fine that threatens to derail Manuel Pellegrini’s summer transfer plans.
