German starlet Mario Gotze is reported to have a release clause in his contract – which could tempt Arsenal and Manchester United and Arsenal into making a bid.

The Daily Mail reports that the playmaker’s £30million buy-out fee expires in July – and that any bid need to be submitted in writing to Borussia Dortmund by April in order to trigger it.

20 year-old Gotze is one of the continent’s hottest properties after helping Dortmund to back-to-back Bundesliga titles and he’s already racked up 20 caps for Germany’s senior side.

Arsenal have tracked the midfielder for some time, but Sir Alex Ferguson could now be tempted by a move to add some much-needed creativity to his side’s midfield.
