Thomas-Muller-Bayern-Munich1Bayern Munich’s CEO Karl Heinz Rummenigge has denied suggestions that Manchester United have submitted a record British bid for Thomas Muller.

Earlier this week, it was suggested that the Red Devils – who are currently looking for a striker – have lodged a £70m bid for the 25-year-old.

But according to Rummenigge, the Premier League giants have not submitted a staggering offer.

When pressed on United’s alleged bid for Muller, the former Bayern star described the reported offer as ‘a flying duck over the ocean.’

United chief Louis van Gaal is understood to be keen on snapping up Muller this summer and has placed him high up on his shopping list.

However, he will face a difficult task to snap up the German international – who he coached during his two-year spell as Bayern chief – as Rummenigge has ruled out selling another player to the Red Devils this summer.

Speaking after the sale of Bastian Schweinsteiger, the 59-year-old said: “I can reassure all the fans — we will not be selling another player to Manchester United.”
