Edinson Cavani is set for showdown talks with PSG over a possible move to Manchester United or Chelsea next week.
Reports in France suggest that Cavani wants to leave Paris this summer and favours a move to Manchester United ahead of Chelsea.PSG have always maintained they want to keep Cavani around despite his unhappiness at playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Parc des Princes this season.
However, Cavani hopes to impress upon the club his desire to move on and is willing to discuss a move to either United or Chelsea.
It is thought that United have been tracking Cavani for some time and may have even sounded out his agent about a possible move in December, ahead of the January transfer window. While no move could be pulled off at that time, there is a suggestion that wage expectations were discussed and United showed a willingness to meet Cavani’s demands.
Chelsea are now widely expected to sign Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid in the summer although recent reports suggested that Roman Abramovich was more in favour of a move for Cavani.
Either way, PSG are thought to want at least £50m to even contemplate selling the 27-year-old, who only joined the club from Napoli for approximately £54m last summer.
