Andre Villas-Boas plans to continue the rebuilding of his squad with a move to bring Lille’s £25million-rated midfielder Eden Hazard to Chelsea.

Hazard is one of Europe’s most sought-after talents, a playmaker with an eye for goal who has bagged seven goals in 19 league appearances so far this term.

The only stumbling block could be the two club’s valuations. The Blues plan to table a bid of £25m, well short of the Ligue 1 side’s desired £33m.

And a Lille official has warned the Blues they will not be willing to sell until the summer.

Jean-Michel Vandamme said: ‘Yes, we have received a lot of very interesting proposals. But the clubs want the player immediately and on this we have a very clear idea: Hazard will remain at least until the end of the season. He will not go.’

Villas-Boas has revealed he is a fan of the Belgium international and could be lining up a move for the player who is also wanted by Arsenal, Real Madrid, Juventus and Bayern Munich, according to The Sun.
