Chelsea and Manchester United are ready to go head-to-head for Monaco hitman Radamel Falcao.

David Moyes is sending his scouts to watch the Colombia ace play against Belgium tomorrow as he weighs up a potential move. But the United boss is not alone in sizing up the striking sensation.

Blues chief Jose Mourinho is set to jet out himself to watch Falcao, 27, in action before deciding whether to lodge a £60m bid.

Falcao swapped Atletico Madrid for tax haven Monaco in the summer but it’s understood he could already be on his way out.

He’s netted nine goals in 13 games this season but Mourinho wants his own look to ensure he’s good enough to cut it in the higher-paced and more physical Premier League.

A striker has been top of Chelsea’s wishlist but bids to sign Wayne Rooney and Robert Lewandowski in the summer failed.

Moyes, meanwhile, will be given up to £100m to spend in January to make the United squad his own.
