Radamel Falcao’s agent has told Goal.com that the Porto striker would be ready to quit his current side and follow Andre Villas-Boas if he is appointed as the next manager of Chelsea.

The 33-year-old coach’s future hangs in the balance and has been tipped as the favourite to join the Blues and replace sacked Carlo Ancelotti.

And that move could have a domino effect at Porto. Claudio Mossio, who represents the 25-year-old Colombian striker, will not exclude a Chelsea transfer if Boas heads to Stamford Bridge.

“If Chelsea’s new coach is Villas-Boas, then it’s normal that the players closest to him could follow him,” Mossio told Goal.com.

“But at the moment I have not heard from anyone from Chelsea, although the player would like such a destination.”

And Falcao, who was outstanding last term as he helped Porto to an unbeaten Portuguese league title, would have no trouble in west London.

“There are many good strikers at Chelsea, and so Falcao would have to fight for his place,” he added.

There was speculation linking north London clubs Tottenham and Arsenal to Falcao, but it seems Roman Abramovich’s transfer funds could blow them out of the water.

“These clubs [Arsenal and Tottenham] are always interested, but they have been blocked by Porto’s €30 million release clause,” said the agent.

Falcao is focused on matters closer at hand and will not be affected by all the hyperbole surrounding his immediate future.

“The player is preparing for the Copa America and is tranquil. He knows how things work in football,” continued Mossio.

“After such a great season, he’s on everyone’s lips.”
