Rafael van der Vaart has hinted at quitting Tottenham for a move home to Holland.

The Dutchman, who has two years left to run on his current deal, hit 15 goals in all competitions last season and has scored 11 so far this time.

But after a career that’s also seen him play for German side Hamburg and Spanish giants Real Madrid since leaving Aajax in 2005, he admits he is keen on a return to the Dutch League.

Van der Vaart told Voetbal International: “I see it as an obligation to play football once again in the Netherlands.

“I have a feeling I have to give something back to the Eredivisie, for what it has meant to me.”
