Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal has his sights set on an audacious £15m bid to sign Dutch youngster Memphis Depay.
Reports claim that the new United boss is great admirer of the 20-year-old and is set to bring the midfielder to Old Trafford.
Van Gaal clearly rates the winger having named him in his provisional World Cup squad earlier this month.
And reports suggest that Depay is almost certain to be included in the final 23.
Depay notched up 13 goals for PSV Eindhoven this season, including a pivotal strike in the Dutch sides Europa League campaign.A source told the Sun to Van Gaal has revealed his admiration for Depay and desire to secure his services.
He said: “Van Gaal really likes Memphis — he put him in his squad for the World Cup qualifiers when he was only a teenager. Now he’s taking the kid to Brazil.”No one would be surprised if he is on his way to United sooner rather than later.”
