Wolfsburg are lining up a January move for Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky.

Boss Felix Magath is desperate to add up to five new players after a disappointing start to the season sees them sitting 12th in the Bundesliga.

However, Magath has been told he will have to hunt for bargains and hopes a £4.5million bid for Rosicky will be enough.

The Czech player has been plagued  by injury since joining the Gunners from Borussia Dortmund in 2006 and has been used only sparingly by Arsene Wenger this season.

With his contract due to expire at the end of the season, Wenger may sanction a cut-price deal – especially as Jack Wilshere is expected to return from injury in the new year.

Rosicky could team up by former Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb. The Belarus star’s loan at Wolfsburg from Barcelona expires at the end of December but he is hoping to negotiate an extension.
