Wolfsburg are ready to ramp up their efforts to sign Tomas Rosicky in January after the German club underlined their interest in the Arsenal midfielder.

The Czech Republic international is one of a number of players who Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is prepared to offload in the New Year.

Rosicky, 31, has been hampered by injury problems over the past few seasons and has managed just seven appearances – four of those from the bench – so far this season.

But Wolfsburg boss Felix Magath, who lead ex-England boss Steve McClaren’s former club to their first Bundesliga title in 2009, is hopeful he can land the playmaker’s services.

‘(Tomas) is a good player, he is fit no question about it,’ said Magath in an interview with German newspaper Bild.

‘Only a few years ago every top club was after him.’

Magath is also keen on signing Bayern Munich striker Ivica Olic when the transfer window reopens for business next month with the Croatia international keen to move on after falling behind Bundesliga top scorer Mario Gomez in the pecking order at the Allianz Arena.

‘(Olic) could fit,’ Magath added. ‘As I have understood it, he has said he wants to move.

‘In the summer he will play at the Euros which will be his last big tournament and until then he wants to play.’
