Roberto-Firmino-BrazilLiverpool have agreed a five-year contract with Hoffenheim star Roberto Firmino, according to stunning reports in Brazil.

Brazilian TV network Globo Esporte claim Firmino has snubbed interest from Manchester United to seal a move to Anfield. It’s now left for the two clubs to agree a fee.

The 23-year-old, who scored seven Bundesliga goals last season, is valued between £18m and £21.7m.

Firmino’s agent Roger Wittmann, who represents the Brazil forward, has confirmed the star is set for the Premier Leaue.

Wittmann told German newspaper Bild: “All I can say is that he’s moving to England.”

Liverpool’s interest is not dependent on the departure of Raheem Sterling. The England star, 20, has been the subject of two rejected bids from Manchester City. The latest was worth a guaranteed fee of £35m.

While Firmino plays in a similar position to the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana, he can drift to the flanks.

But Liverpool are understood to want him regardless of whether they sell Sterling or not.

Firmino is currently at the Copa America in Chile with Brazil.
