Arsenal seal Mesut Ozil transfer as £42m midfielder becomes British football’s second-biggest signing ever.

Record-breaker Mesut Ozil turned down a bigger offer from Paris Saint-Germain to sign for Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger also brought in Palermo’s highly rated goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano on loan.


Manchester United

Marouane Fellaini delivered a transfer request in person to Everton as he successfully made a last-ditch attempt to force through a £27million move to Manchester United.

The Reds claim they pulled the plug on their £30.5million deal for Ander Herrera – because they felt he was overpriced.

David Moyes also failed in a bid to take Real Madrid left-back Fabio Coentrao on a season-long loan – compounding the pain of missing out on Leighton Baines and Herrara.

Manchester United’s Nick Powell signed for Wigan in a rush on Monday night – to make sure he can play in Europe.


Liverpool signed young defender Tiago Ilori from Sporting Lisbon for a fee of around £8million.

The Reds also snapped up highly-rated French defender Mamadou Sakho for a fee of around £15million.

Victor Moses also joined the Anfield club from Chelsea on season-long loan in third signing on busy day for Brendan Rodgers.

Manchester City

Manchester City new boy Martin Demichelis has vowed to repay manager Manuel Pellegrini’s faith in him after joining from Atletico Madrid.


Tottenham made a cheeky ­deadline offer to Chelsea to swap unwanted strikers Emmanuel Adebayor for Fernando Torres.

Spurs duo Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Tom Carroll joined QPR on season-long loans.


Everton beat the clock to secure a double loan swoop for Gareth Barry and Romelu Lukaku.

Roberto Martinez also secured the services of James McCarthy in a £14million deal following a bitter wrangle with Wigan.


Fabio Borini has swapped Anfield for the Stadium of Light after agreeing to join fellow Italian Paolo Di Canio’s Sunderland in a season-long loan deal.

Andrea Dossena also joined the Black Cats from Napoli. The left-back agreed a one-year deal at the club.

Aston Villa

Aston Villa signed Libor Kozak from Lazio for around £7million – the top scorer in last season’s Europa League.

Stoke City

Stoke boss Mark Hughes added Stephen Ireland to the Potters’ squad on a season-long loan from Premier League rivals Aston Villa.

Mark Hughes has boosted his strike forced by signing Marko Arnautovic from Werder Bremen.

West Brom

West Brom broke their transfer record with the signing of forward Stephane Sessegnon from Sunderland.

The Club also signed Victor Anichebe from Everton after Steve Clarke misses out on Romelu Lukaku.

The Baggies also completed a deal for French midfielder Morgan Amalfitano on a season-long loan deal from Marseille.

And Steve Clarke moved to cover the loss of England keeper Ben Foster by bringing in Northern Ireland international Lee Camp.

Peter Odemwingie was finally offloaded to Cardiff having been frozen out at the Hawthorns.

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace signed Barry Bannan from Aston Villa as Eagles’ boss Ian Holloway made his 14th signing of the summer.

Holloway also brought in Adrian Mariappa from Reading for an undisclosed fee.

Hull City

Hull City have brought Egypt striker Gedo back to the club on a season-long loan from Al Ahly, subject to international clearance.


Elsad Zveroti joined Fulham from BSC Young Boys for an undisclosed fee on a two-year deal.


Alvaro Vazquez joined Swansea on a season-long loan as boss Michael Laudrup finally ended his chase for the pacey Getafe striker.

Elsewhere in Europe

Kaka – the former world’s most expensive player – has made an emotional return back to the AC Milan for FREE.

Gareth Bale joins Real Madrid and admits: Ronaldo’s still the boss here even though I cost more.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has warned Gareth Bale he must now prove he is worth his world record transfer fee.
