Manchester United have trained their sights on signing Edinson Cavani this summer.
The Paris Saint-Germain has never been too far away from United’s thoughts with Louis Van Gaal looking to bring in a world class striker to Old Trafford this summer.Chelsea also expressed an interest in Cavani in the past month, but with Diego Costa set to join, a move for the Uruguayan appears remote.PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi had also been at pains to point out recently that Cavani would stay at the Parc des Princes despite reports suggesting he was unhappy and said: “Perhaps he is not satisfied with his position, but he is very happy in Paris.
“He wants to play as a central striker, but these things are for the coach to decide and maybe he will change the system for next season.
“Cavani is very important for us, with his style of play he is very unselfish and he won’t leave.”But now reports surfacing on the continent indicate United are readying a £56m bid to prise Cavani from the Ligue 1 giants. It is thought however there are complications on Cavani’s side that could prevent a deal from taking place.
Cavani smashed home 22 goals for PSG last term.
