Grzegorz-Krychowiak-SevillaArsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to make a move in the transfer window for Sevilla star Grzegorz Krychowiak, according to reports.

The 25-year-old has been in blistering form in Spain and is believed to have a £21m release clause in his contract.

Wenger is a big admirer of Krychowiak and tried to bring him to the Gunners in the summer, according to Fichajes.

The Polish defensive midfielder would be the perfect partner for Francis Coquelin who has been integral to Arsenal’s recent good form.

Manchester City are also reportedly interested in Krychowiak’s services as they look to maintain their title challenge under Manuel Pellegrini.

The Poland international has recently rejected a new contract offer from the Spanish club putting Arsenal and City on alert and ready to make their move in January.

The Gunners failed to sign any outfield player in the summer with Petr Cech the only new recruit.

Arsenal are currently second in the Premier League level on points with table-toppers City.

The Gunners face a trip to Sheffield Wednesday in the Capital One Cup this evening before travelling to Swansea on Saturday.
