Eden Hazard could be at the centre of an intriguing bidding war with the Chelsea star garnering interest from both Barcelona and PSG.
The Belgian playmaker was made a scapegoat by Jose Mourinho in the aftermath of the Blues’ Champions League semi-final defeat to Atletico Madrid and insisted he’s not willing to “sacrifice” himself 100 per cent for the team.Reports emerged over the weekend that Chelsea had opened talks with PSG over a possible swap deal involving Edinson Cavani.
The Uruguayan is thought to be unhappy at the Parc des Princes and has played second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic this term.
But according to Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have now trained their sights on Hazard.
They suggest that they will be monitoring the situation and will be looking to make a move should Chelsea be willing to let him go.Mourinho is looking to pave the way for a world-class striker and so freeing space on the wage bill as well as complying with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations would help him achieve this.
Hazard is the club’s top scorer with 16 goals to his name so far this campaign.
