According to reports in his native homeland, Luiz has agreed to join Barca on a five-year-contract and an official announcement of the deal will be made after this summer’s World Cup.
The La Liga giants have finally got their man after failing on numerous attempts to lure Luiz to Spain.
Luiz, 27, has struggled to hold down a regular place this season following the return of Mourinho with John Terry and Gary Cahill the preferred centre-back pairing.
Chelsea skipper Terry, 33, who is out of contract this summer, is expected to be offered a new deal to stay at the club with Luiz set to exit.
The move to Barca will bring to an end Luiz’s three-year stay with Chelsea in which helped the club win their first Champions League crown in 2012.
