Chelsea target Radamel Falcao has dropped a big hint that he may be on his way to Atletico Madrid.

The Porto striker, who is being tracked by his former boss Andre Villas-Boas, revealed that joining Atletico would represent a ‘great opportunity.’

Reports in Spain have strongly linked the Colombian international with a move to the Vicente Calderon and the club are keen to quickly find a replacement for Sergio Aguero.

‘Every player thinks about playing in one of the major leagues like Spain, Italy or England,’ Falcao said in A Bola. ‘Anyone who says otherwise is a liar.

‘Atletico Madrid have great fans and it would be a great opportunity for my career. At the moment I am waiting to see what the solution to my future is.

Villas-Boas prioritised signing Porto trio Falcao, Joao Moutinho and Rolando on his arrival at Stamford Bridge but as of yet he has made no major signings this summer.

Falcao has scored 73 goals for the Portuguese champions in the last two seasons since joining from River Plate in 2009.
