Cesc Fabregas has moved to distance himself from a £25million summer switch to Manchester United.

Barcelona midfielder Fabregas has been linked with a move to Premier League champions United after struggling to hold down a regular place at the Nou Camp.

But the former Arsenal star , 26, told Spanish radio Onda Cero that he has no intention of moving and is determined to stay and fight for his place at Barca.

“It’s fascinating how some people can invent these things,” said Fabregas. “I’ve never opened my mouth about this.

“I’m very happy, it’s taken a lot to get where I am and I don’t plan on throwing that away for anything.

“The truth is that if I didn’t feel that I was wanted it would be different, but I haven’t been told anything.

“I’m very happy, the truth is that I want to triumph with Barcelona.

“I’m living a dream, it was my dream since I was a child and I would like to fulfill that by working hard.”

Fabregas has come in for criticism from Barcelona’s fans for some under-par performances last season but is adamant he will stay and prove them wrong.

“The public is boss,” said Fabregas. “If they whistle, I’ll have to put up with it.

“I was the first to know that Barca would be the most important challenge of my life. I just want to play.

“Barcelona is my home, I’ve always dreamed of triumphing here.

“I know there are some people who don’t like how I play, but these all are challenges in my life and it must make me stronger and let me know I still have a lot to improve if I will be able to succeed in this team.

“The most important thing is to face every good and bad moment as they come.

“But it’s true there have some games when I wasn’t okay, for example the one against Bayern Munich.

“You always have to accept the supporters’ opinion. Then I just have to keep fighting so I can be wanted.”
