iker-casillasReal Madrid legend Iker Casillas is ready to leave the Bernabeu after a staggering 15-years and could join Arsenal for a nominal fee next summer.

According to Spanish television channel Cuatro, Casillas thinks leaving his beloved Los Blancos would be the best available option to him and the club – despite having three-years remaining on his contract.

The arrival of Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas has jeopardised Casillas’ chances of remaining number one, and will look elsewhere to assure himself first-team football.

Navas has been selected to start in Tuesday night’s clash with Elche, a move that indicates Ancelotti’s willingness to introduce new blood into his star studded squad.

The Spanish legend has made 478 appearances during his 15-year love affair with the Madrid side, but with Arsene Wenger’s interest peaked he may decide to grace the Premier League before it’s too late.

Many Gunners fans will question Wenger’s decision to pursue Casillas, especially considering his turbulent World Cup campaign in-which he apologised for Spain’s 5-1 drubbing at the hands of the Netherlands.

The arrival of David Ospina alongside Wojciech Szczesny will make it almost impossible for Casillas to force his way into Wenger’s plans.
