Real Madrid’s renewed pursuit of Monaco striker Radamel Falcao is set to benefit Chelsea’s attempts to sign Karim Benzema and Liverpool’s chances of holding onto Luis Suarez.

Madrid president Florentino Perez has hinted that Real will try and buy Falcao next summer.

And that could pave the way for Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho to return to the Bernabeu and sign striker Karim Benzema.

In turn, Liverpool’s grasp on Luis Suarez would also be strengthened as his preferred move to the Spanish capital would appear highly unlikely should Real sign Falcao.

Falcao left Real’s local rivals Atletico this summer to join Monaco for around £50million, but Perez has refused to rule out a bid for the Colombian hitman at the end of the season.

“He (Falcao) won’t come in January but in June, who knows?” Perez said.

“Nothing is impossible and there is a lot of time between now and then.

“Falcao is a great player and I am aware that he wants to play for (Real) Madrid. I am aware of that, but it’s normal. They told me.”

Real may wish for Falcao to replace out-of-form Benzema, who could be offloaded to Chelsea in order to solve Mourinho’s striking crisis at Stamford Bridge.

But Perez gave his public backing to the Frenchman, while admitting the club regularly receive offers for his services.

“I have faith in all the players in our squad,” Perez added.

“Karim is a great player and we get offers for him all the time, every summer.

“All I can say is that the coach is the one who has the authority to do what he believes is right.”
